Sweepstakes only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia (excluding residents of Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan, and at retail in Virginia) who are smokers, 21 years of age or older at time of entry. Sweepstakes void in Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan, at retail in Virginia, and where prohibited by law. Sweepstakes subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Sweepstakes will be promoted at retail, in p.s. pleasure scene Magazine and other forms of advertising distribution which total approximately 118,000,000. Sweepstakes will also be promoted online at www.newport-pleasure.com. All employees of Lorillard Tobacco Company (“Sponsor”), its parent and affiliated companies, production and promotion agencies (collectively “Released Parties”), their immediate families (spouses, parents, children, siblings and their spouses), regardless of where they live, and same household members (whether related or not) are not eligible. Entrants must access the toll-free number or the website from anywhere in the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia at the time they enter.
  2. HOW TO ENTER: Sweepstakes begins on or about 5/1/09 and ends 10/31/09. There are three (3) ways to enter. 1. Call-in entries: Beginning at 12:01 AM Eastern Daylight Saving Time (“EDT”) on 5/1/09 and ending at 11:59:59 PM EDT on 10/31/09, HAVE YOUR 9-DIGIT NEWPORT CUSTOMER PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (“PIN”) FROM ANY NEWPORT MAILING AND CALL TOLL FREE 1-888-823-6111, 1-888-824-8111 or 1-888-273-4161 from a touch tone phone and follow the voice prompt instructions. Smokers who do not have a PIN will need to follow all voice prompt instructions. Sponsor not responsible for entries that are disconnected, misdirected, incomplete, or inaudible, or that contain unintelligible information provided by entrants, or for otherwise misdirected entries that are processed late, incorrectly or are lost due to telephone or computer system equipment failure. LIMIT: One call-in entry per person. Multiple entries submitted by the same entrant via the call-in method may disqualify all of that entrant’s entries; 2. Internet entries: Beginning at 12:01 AM EDT on or about 6/1/09 and ending at 11:59:59 PM EDT on 10/31/09, go to www.newport-pleasure.com and follow all prompt instructions to enter. Internet entries that are incomplete, lost, late, misdirected, garbled, or improperly received for any reason including by reason of hardware, software, browser or network failure, malfunction, congestion, or incompatibility at Sponsor’s servers or elsewhere are not eligible. All Internet entries must be received by 11:59:59 PM EDT on 10/31/09. Direct mail recipients entering through the Internet must provide a valid email address. LIMIT: One Internet entry per person per week. Use of computer programs and other automatic means to submit multiple entries are prohibited; and 3. Mail-in entries: Complete the Official Entry Form in the direct mail piece or the Official Entry Form found at select retail locations by hand printing your date of birth and telephone number and signing your full legal name to certify that you are a smoker, 21 years of age or older, and send it to the address indicated. The Official Entry Form also contains five (5) survey questions. While it is requested that you answer all five (5) survey questions, answers to the questions are not required in order to enter the Sweepstakes and will not affect your chances of winning. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by 10/31/09 and received by 11/9/09. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, stolen, damaged, illegible, or postage-due entries or mail. LIMIT: One mail-in entry per person. Original Official Entry Form must be used to enter Sweepstakes; no copies or mechanical reproductions of entry forms will be accepted. All entries should be signed and show your date of birth certifying that you are a smoker, 21 years of age or older. Entrant’s mail-in or Internet-entered certification statement is subject to validation and may be confirmed through a third-party data source. You may receive a letter to update your eligibility with Sponsor which you will need to respond to by the date indicated in the letter; noncompliance may result in disqualification. Incomplete entries will be void. Entries submitted by entrants that Sponsor is unable to age verify may be void. The Sponsor’s server is the official clock of this Sweepstakes.
  3. RANDOM DRAWING/WINNER SELECTION: Twenty-five (25) Grand Prize Winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. The random drawing will be conducted on or about 12/1/09 by Centra Marketing & Communications, LLC, an independent judging organization whose decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final and binding in all respects. Winners will be notified by mail on or about 12/15/09. If a prize- winning notification letter or prize is returned as undeliverable, that prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate Winner in a random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries received.
  4. TWENTY-FIVE (25) GRAND PRIZES: Each Grand Prize consists of one (1) trip for Winner and one (1) adult guest to Las Vegas, NV, for Grand Prize Winner to compete in a Newport Blackjack Tournament. Each Grand Prize trip consists of round-trip coach-class air transportation between the commercial airport nearest the Grand Prize Winner’s residence and Las Vegas, NV, for two (2) persons; three (3) nights hotel accommodations (one standard room, double occupancy) at the Palms Casino Resort; participation for the Grand Prize Winner to compete in the Newport Blackjack Tournament; two (2) tickets to a Sponsor-specified show; ground transfers between airport and hotel, and hotel and show location in Las Vegas, NV; one (1) $300 Gift Card to be redeemed at any Palms Casino Resort on-premise restaurant, lounge or café; and one (1) $200 cash spending money allowance. The approximate retail value of each Grand Prize not to exceed $2,325. Actual retail value of Grand Prize trip may vary based on airfare fluctuations and point of departure. The Grand Prize Winner will not be compensated for the difference between the actual retail value and the approximate retail value of the Grand Prize as stated herein. Grand Prize Winners and guests must travel between April 19, 2010, and April 22, 2010, or prize will be forfeited and an alternate Winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries provided that sufficient time remains prior to the Grand Prize Trip. Hotel and airline reservations are subject to availability, and additional restrictions may apply. Guests must be 21 years of age or older at the time of travel. Grand Prize Winners will be solely responsible for any and all meals and beverages in excess of allowance, ground transfers between Winner’s residence and airport of departure, ground transportation in Las Vegas, NV, not stated herein, gratuities, travel upgrades, personal incidentals and any other expenses not specified as a part of the prize herein. Grand Prize Winners will be required to present a major credit card upon hotel check-in for any in-room charges. Grand Prize Winners and guests must travel together on the same itinerary and will be required to provide a copy of their driver license or equivalent Government-Issued ID prior to ticketing. Grand Prize Winners and guests will be solely responsible for obtaining any travel documents required for domestic air travel and the costs associated with obtaining such documents. Travel is subject to any and all restrictions instituted by the Department of Defense and/or Department of Homeland Security as required. All travel and lodging will be at the traveler’s risk. Sponsor is not responsible for any fees or additional charges resulting from Winner’s or guest’s change of travel plans. Sponsor will not be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitutions, or any act or omissions whatsoever by air carriers or other transportation companies, or any other persons providing services and accommodations to passengers. Grand Prize Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state and local taxes. Prizes are nontransferable and no cash or other substitutions will be allowed. In the event a portion of the prize is unavailable, for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to make a substitution of equal or greater value. In the event the Newport Blackjack Tournament is cancelled after the prize is ticketed, or cancelled during the trip but prior to the scheduled event, Sponsor’s liability for the Grand Prize is limited to the travel portion plus the $200 spending money for the Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest. In the event a Grand Prize Winner does not participate in the Newport Blackjack Tournament or his/her travel is delayed or cancelled and Grand Prize Winner cannot participate in the Newport Blackjack Tournament, those not participating will only receive the $2,000 portion of the Newport Blackjack Tournament purse. The Sponsor reserves the right to remove any Grand Prize Winner and/or his/her guest from the hotel or Newport Blackjack Tournament for rude or disruptive conduct. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Limit one Grand Prize per household. Grand Prize Winners will be required to provide Sponsor with their social security numbers for tax purposes.
  5. NEWPORT BLACKJACK TOURNAMENT: All twenty-five (25) Grand Prize Winners (hereinafter “Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants”) will participate in the Newport Blackjack Tournament at the Palms Casino Resort on April 20, 2010, to compete for a prize purse totaling $100,000. There will be a lesson on how to play Blackjack in the Newport Blackjack Tournament prior to Qualifying Round. QUALIFYING ROUND: All twenty-five (25) Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants will participate in the Qualifying Round of the Newport Blackjack Tournament. In the Qualifying Round, there will be a total of four (4) Newport Blackjack Tournament Tables. Three (3) of the Newport Blackjack Tournament Tables will consist of six (6) Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants and one (1) Newport Blackjack Tournament Table will consist of seven (7) Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants. Each Newport Blackjack Tournament Participant will receive the same designated amount of Tournament Chips to compete in the Qualifying Round of the Newport Blackjack Tournament. Each Newport Blackjack Tournament Participant will receive $25,000 in Tournament Chips. The minimum bet is $500 and the maximum bet will be $25,000. Bets must be made in increments of $500. The Qualifying Round will be thirty (30) minutes in length plus five (5) hands. After thirty (30) minutes, Tournament Chips of each Newport Blackjack Tournament Participant will be counted down and announced. Five (5) additional hands will be dealt. The Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants with the three (3) highest amount value of chips at each table after the final five (5) hands of the Qualifying Round will advance to the Semi-Final Round. A Newport Blackjack Tournament Participant may be disqualified during the Qualifying Round if he/she looses all of his/her Tournament Chips before the Qualifying Round is completed. In the event of a tie among Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants at a designated table during the Qualifying Round, a playoff hand will be held among all tied Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants to determine the three (3) Winners from that designated table. SEMI-FINAL ROUND: The three (3) Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants remaining at each Newport Blackjack Tournament Table in the Qualifying Round will compete in the Semi-Final Round for a total of twelve (12) Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participants. Each Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participant will receive the same designated amount of Tournament Chips to compete in the Semi-Final Round of the Newport Blackjack Tournament. Each Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participant will receive $25,000 in Tournament Chips. The minimum bet is $500 and the maximum bet will be $25,000. Bets must be made in increments of $500. The Semi-Final Round will be thirty (30) minutes in length plus five (5) hands. After thirty (30) minutes, Tournament Chips of each Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participant will be counted down and announced. Five (5) additional hands will be dealt. The Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participant with the highest amount value of chips after the final five (5) hands of the Semi-Final Round at each table will advance to the Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round. In the event of a tie among Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participants at a designated table during the Semi-Final Round, a playoff hand will be held among all tied Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participants to determine the one (1) Winner from that designated table. A Newport Blackjack Tournament Semi-Final Round Participant may be declared a Final Round Participant during the Semi-Final Round if he/she is the only remaining participant with chips at his/her designated table during the Semi-Final Round. WILD CARD DRAWING FOR FINAL ROUND: The twenty-one (21) Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants who did not advance to the Final Round will participate in a Wild Card Drawing prior to the Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round. The Newport Blackjack Tournament Participant who selects the designated “Wild Card” during the Wild Card Drawing will be eligible to advance to the Final Round of the Newport Blackjack Tournament. FINAL ROUND: A total of five (5) Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participants will compete in the Final Round. Each Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant will receive the same designated amount of Tournament Chips to compete in the Final Round of the Newport Blackjack Tournament. Each Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant will receive $100,000 in Tournament Chips. The minimum bet is $1,000 and the maximum bet will be $100,000. Bets must be made in increments of $1,000. The Final Round will be sixty (60) minutes in length plus five (5) hands. After sixty (60) minutes, Tournament Chips of each Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant will be counted down and announced. Five (5) additional hands will be dealt. The Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant with the highest amount value of chips after the final five (5) hands of the Final Round will be declared the Grand Prize Winner. The Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant with the second highest amount value of chips will be declared the First Prize Winner. The Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant with the third highest amount value of chips will be declared the Second Prize Winner. The Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant with the fourth highest amount value of chips and the Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participant with the least amount value of chips will be declared the two (2) Third Prize Winners. In the event of a tie among Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round Participants during the Tournament Final Round, a playoff hand will be held among all tied Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants to determine the Grand and First Prize Winners. Prize Purse for the Newport Blackjack Tournament Final Round: One (1) Grand Prize: $25,000; One (1) First Prize: $15,000; One (1) Second Prize: $10,000; and Two (2) Third Prizes: $5,000 each. All remaining twenty (20) Newport Blackjack Tournament Participants who did not qualify for the Tournament Final Round will be deemed Fourth Prize Winners and Fourth Prize Winners will each receive $2,000. Total Prize Purse for the Newport Blackjack Tournament: $100,000.

    TOTAL APPROXIMATE VALUE OF GRAND PRIZES AND NEWPORT BLACKJACK TOURNAMENT PURSE: $158,125.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for any problems or technical, hardware, or software malfunctions of any telephone network or telephone lines; failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes; computer online systems, servers or providers; computer equipment; software; failure of any email or entry to be received by the Sponsor due to technical problems, human error or traffic congestion; unavailable network connections on the Internet or at any website; or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to a participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use Winners’ names and likenesses for publicity purposes without further compensation, permission or notification (except where prohibited by law). By accepting prize, Winners agree that the Released Parties, and the officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents of each of the Released Parties, have no liability and will be released and held harmless by Winners for any damage, loss or liability to person or property, caused in whole or part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prize participation in this Sweepstakes, or traveling to or from any prize related activity. Grand Prize Winners will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability and Publicity Release (where legal) and the Grand Prize Winners and their guests are also required to submit a copy of a valid Government-Issued photo identification document within ten (10) business days after prize notification. Guests must also sign a Liability/Publicity Release prior to travel. Noncompliance may result in disqualification, and the prize may be awarded to an alternate Winner. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the judges’ decisions.

USE OF INFORMATION: The information provided by entrants in connection with this Sweepstakes may be used for Sponsor’s internal purposes and to send information about Sponsor’s products and special promotions, but will not be provided to third parties, except as necessary for the administration of the Sweepstakes or as required by law or legal process.
